The Great Gift is an Islamic morality tale for children, approved by Al Azhar, focusing on the importance of being satisfied with what Allah has given us. Sara wants an expensive new toy, but her parents refuse to buy it for her. When another child gets the same toy yet is still not happy, Sara realizes that happiness is not about getting everything she wants, but about being content with what she already has. With realistic characters and events, The Great Gift offers children the opportunity to consider moral behavior in a realistic life situation through an engaging story, with follow-up discussion questions at the end, as well as relevant selections from the Quran and Sunnah (approved by Al Azhar) for parents and teachers to help children make connections in how Islam guides our daily living.

This story is an entertaining, modern Islamic morality tale for children that discusses the importance of feeling satisfied with what you have, countering greed and materialism to find peace and contentment. The Great Gift is the third story of six in the Nooraldeen Family Series involving Sara and Adam, with a variety of other multicultural characters from among friends, family and community members.
Following each story are references from the Quran and Sunnah relating to the moral. Also included are suggested discussion questions to offer parents and religious school teachers ideas on how to use the story as a prompt for open dialogue that allows for children to make personal connections and stimulate thought and learning.
